Magnuson Muse & News – December Newsletter

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you all!  As wonderful it is to celebrate this time of year, waiting and preparing for the coming of Jesus’ birth, I am always mindful of those who struggle during this time of year.  Some are missing loved ones.  Some don’t have enough resources to provide for their families.  It can be a challenging time for many.  This week we are especially mindful of Mrs. Ostrand, our 2nd grade teacher, whose mom passed away last Friday.  The funeral and visitation will be this weekend.  Mrs. Ostrand got her love of reading and books from her mom who was a librarian for 22 years!  Please keep her and her family in prayer as they celebrate her life.  May God comfort Mrs. Ostrand with sweet memories that heal her soul.

Christmas Lunch

MPTP is hosting a Staff Appreciation Lunch on Tuesday, December 19th.  What a thoughtful (and delicious) way to express your appreciation!  You can help by signing up on our Google doc to bring soup and salad bar items:  CLICK HERE!
All items need to be dropped off before 11 AM on the day of the event.  Remember, keep track of how long it takes to make any items since it can count toward your required service hours.  Contact for more information.

Really, Really, Really Good News

Our highly anticipated Christmas program is Tuesday, December 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary at Community of Grace Church.  I love nothing more than hearing the story of Jesus’ birth through the voices of children!  4th-8th graders are to report to the music room by 6:10.  All other students should meet in their classrooms at that time. O come let us adore Him!

Vadnais Sports Center

Third through Eighth grade students get to go to the Vadnais Sports Center dome for phy. ed. in January and February!  What a blessing that will be to have a huge “gym” space to run around in, exercise, play soccer, and learn some physical fitness life skills.  Mr. Carroll needs several volunteers to help on Wednesdays and Fridays during those two months.  We have reserved the space from 10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  Please contact Mr. Carroll if you can help chaperone.  Click his e-mail here:  He needs to stay at the complex while 2 different groups get bused back and forth from Magnuson during that time.  This is where parents come in.  You’d ride that bus there and back with the students AND join in the fun during the phy. ed. time if you’d like. Thanks for checking your schedule and possibly clearing some time to join MCS students for this awesome experience!  We start January 3rd!
