The Meyer Family
Our story began as a story of convenience. Renee, at the time,
was the Site Director and Kinderstart teacher at Magnuson’s partner in education, Lake Area Discovery Center. I traveled for my job, which made it difficult to get Shea on a bus in the mornings, so we explored the option of sending her to Kindergarten at Magnuson.
We were very aware of Magnuson Christian School through the partnership with LADC and First Lutheran Church. We had several relationships with families that had filtered through LADC into Magnuson and have attended the Magnuson Gala 8 consecutive years.
After Kindergarten was over, Shea had blossomed into a kind and caring individual with genuine concern for others. We attribute this behavior to the Staff and Families of Magnuson Christian School. The love and compassion shown day in and day out for our children is what shines the most. Not only is Shea starting to live like Jesus, her younger brother Reid (Kindergartner) is also being exposed to the same concepts that she learned from day one. The curriculum is rigorous and challenges both Reid and Shea everyday.
The most powerful way in which Magnuson has impacted the Meyer family is through the concept of Missions. We love the fact that our children are exposed to a different Mission project each month and that they get to participate in making a difference in someone else’s lives.
We believe that Magnuson Christian School is building a strong foundation in Jesus Christ and challenging them academically, setting the students up for success as they move on with their academic careers. We have been blessed to have found Magnuson and cherish the relationships that have formed because of it.
