November 2021 Parent Newsletter
It’s hard to believe we’ve finished up the first quarter of school, and that it’s already mid-November. Since September, the school halls have been filled with joyful students and staff. The hallways and classrooms are covered with beautiful student artwork, and the sounds of happy children fill the classrooms and fields. May you all have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Magnuson Q & A
I asked a handful of MCS students and staff “What are you thankful for this November?”
Here are their answers!
Gabriella, 6th grade: My cats.
Bella, 3rd grade: For my friends and family.
Mr. Severson, P.E. Teacher: I'm thankful for the blood of Jesus that has cleansed me from all sin and His free gift of eternal life! Also, my two boys and I have been preserved through some challenging situations. Also, the opportunity to work at Magnuson, and the freedom to worship and my brothers and sisters in Christ!
Elizabeth, 3rd grade: For a nice school to be in.
John, 6th grade: My pets.
Mia, 4th grade: I am so thankful for Jesus and my family. I’m also very thankful for my hamster, Biscuit.
Mrs. Hietala, 3rd Grade Teacher: I am most thankful for God's provision and guidance for me and my family.
Magnuson Dads Unite News
A group of Magnuson dads and their kids helped rake leaves for local folks who needed a hand. It was a great way for MCS families to get to know each other better while serving those in need. Plus, they had fun!
Students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade participated in this community-building project. Many thanks to MCS parent Nick Hudson for organizing efforts like this!
Did you hear?
Our school’s Bible verse for the 2021-22 school year is Matthew 5:12, the 8 Beatitudes of Jesus.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
MCS students revisit this special verse in chapel each week. Chapel occurs every Wednesday morning at Magnuson.
